RAE 2008

The Department of Mathematics is pleased to announce its excellent results in the national Research Asssessment Exercise, announced in http://submissions.rae.ac.uk/results/ on 18 December.

The full profiles are given on the web site and do not order the departments, but if one looks at the 4* percentage on its own or the 3*+4* combined percentage both units come in the top five to ten in the UK.

According to the RAE assessment over 65% of the research in the Department is internationally excellent or world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour. This puts the Department in the top quarter of all UK Mathematics Departments and near the top in London.
