The prospective candidate must have sound skills as an experimentalist in ultrafast optics and spectroscopy, including non-linear optics, transient absorption spectroscopy, and nano-optics. He must be proficient in the optics of femtosecond pulses, the use of models to gain an understanding of the experimental measurements, and be able to implement new experimental configurations. Additional experience in coherent control, FDTD simulations, the optical properties of excitons, plasmons, and solitons is a plus.
