European Union Welcome to the new Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in European Law and Governance here at King's College London.

Introduction

Drawing upon a world-renowned wealth of experience and expertise, the JMCE aims to strengthen interdisciplinary teaching, research and outreach activities (to practitioners, civil society and the wider public) at the intersection of legal, social and political science approaches to the study of law and governance within the European Union.
 
Over the next three years we plan an ambitious programme of initiatives and activities, including:

Following the success of our 2010 Annual Conference, a new book gathering together the papers presented on the day has now been published:

Showcasing an original, interdisciplinary approach, this edited volume examines the effect of migration on the domestic politics of individual states and how they are eroding the distinctions between the domestic and foreign policy, the ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ components of politics and law. We are certain that it will make an important contribution to the field.
