Department of Political Economy

King's has an international reputation for the development of policy, both nationally and internationally and the Department of Political Economy is building on this tradition. Political Economy takes as its subject matter the engagement between political power and economic life and its expression in the development, implementation and evaluation of public policy.

The Department of Political Economy's central focus is upon the interface of political science, economic analysis and political theory. This interface is explored in a range of substantive policy areas including health, security, science, employment, energy and competition. Undergraduates in the department are taught by leading academics in their field and gain excellent career prospects.
