Distance Learning

| Admissions status: Open
To apply for most of our postgraduate programmes at King's you will need to complete our postgraduate online application form. A minority of programmes have a different application procedure which will be outlined below. Applying online makes applying easier and quicker for you, and means we can receive your application faster and more securely.
King's does not normally accept paper copies of the postgraduate application form as applications must be made online. However, if you are unable to access the online postgraduate application form, please contact the relevant admissions/School Office at King's for advice.

If you have already applied to King's through our online application form you can check the status of your application by logging into myApplication myApplication

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Completed applications (consisting of an online application form, both references, transcripts of previous qualifications and evidence of English Language score where required) will be considered on a "first come first served" basis according to the date of completion of the application. Early applications are strongly advised.

The initial decision will be to either confirm the offer of a place without an interview, invite you for an interview, hold your application for further consideration following the official closing date for applications, or to reject the application.

You should be expect to receive this initial decision within six weeks of the date of completion of the completed application, although this may be slightly longer at peak periods near to the closing date. Applicants who are offered a place will have to provide original documentary evidence of their previous qualifications, and pay a non-refundable deposit, before access to the online virtual learning environment will be given at the start of your course.

Applications received after the closing date will be held as reserve applications on a waiting list, in case there are vacancies or places become available.

PERSONAL STATEMENT & SUPPORTING INFORMATION
You should describe how the degree will fit into your career plan and demonstrate a focused interest in the programme. You should also confirm that you have read and can comply with the computing specification required to commence the programme, which can be viewed at http: http://www.kcl.ac.uk/schools/dentistry/pg/distance/pcspec.html and provide details of your access to: Adequate clinical facilities and an appropriate selection of patients; Approved video equipment, as part of the monitoring process (advice on this will be given in the first intensive face-to-face course); An appropriate dental library.

FUNDING
Fees have undergone a simplification process aimed at providing a total price for a whole year’s tuition. In previous years, face-to-face course fees were charged in addition to annual tuition fees, which caused confusion. The new fee covers all tuition fees, including face-to-face fees. Students will still need to fund accommodation, travel and meals for their face-to-face courses. We think this provide a clearer picture of the final cost of the programme and will allow students to plan accordingly. Self-funded. See the King's Graduate Funding Database (http://www.kcl.ac.uk/graduate/funding/database/) for any available funding opportunities.
