Classical Studies Grad Dip

King's stood out for me mainly because of the impressive range of facilities available and also because of its world-renowned reputation for excellence in the Classics field. The resources at one's disposal here are impressive; with all the College libraries, Senate House Library, the Institute for Classical Studies, the British Library, the British Museum etc there is certainly no lack of resources for the subject.
The Department of Classics at King's has been really helpful, right through from the application procedure to my dissertation supervision. The department puts on a fortnightly seminar, and there is ample opportunity for graduates to showcase their work to one another at the University of London Libraries. All of this makes academic life accessible to all those willing to get involved.
The biggest hurdle was funding. I applied far too late to be considered for an AHRC scholarship so had to take a Career Development Loan - a major decision but nonetheless a worthwhile one. I decided that I was only going to do the course if I could do so with full commitment, so the loan was justified.
Choosing King's for Classics is a brilliant way to fulfill one's potential - as well as being an enjoyable experience, it has left me well-placed to undertake research.
