DESCRIPTION
The history of modern Europe and Britain has always been central to teaching and research at King’s College London. Past members of the department include Sir Michael Howard (who later founded the department of War Studies and went on to be Regius Professor of History at Oxford), Richard Overy (perhaps the most eminent historian of Nazism and the Second World War in the English-speaking world) and Miles Taylor (now director of the Institute of Historical Research).
