Classical Studies BA

King's College London was my first choice university. Its prestigious reputation of teaching standards, research success and some of the best employment rates in the UK was encouraging. The facilities such as the renowned Maughan Library are equally impressive. Being part of King's vibrant and stimulating community, with its unrivaled location means that I am not just a student, but am part of London and at the centre of the country's political, economic and cultural life.

I am very happy based at the Strand Campus, being so central means it is easily accessible and not too far from any of the student accommodations. The location of the campus; next to Somerset House, facing the Thames is flawless.

Living at Stamford Street Apartment means that access to both the Waterloo and Strand Campuses are within short walking distance, which is most convenient and saves travel costs. The residence is non-catered and so allows for flexibility and the en-suite is ideal.

Entertainment in London is superb, from watching films at the IMAX to ice-skating at Somerset House, there is never a dull moment. I am confident and happy here at King's.

Despite being offered a place at another university for a similar course, the appeal of King's College London was far too great. Having lived in London my whole life I decided that being away from this fantastic city during my time at university would be foolish. London is the epicenter of activity in the country. There is always an event to go to, or a talk taking place.

My sister completed a degree in pharmacy a few years ago, and she didn't have a bad word to say about King's. She loved her time here. This, along with the fact that King's is one of the most prestigious institutes in the world (always featuring high up in the university league tables) and being located in the heart of London, meant my decision was an easy one.

I particularly like the flexibility with regards to module choices. Within the Classics department, there is a wide variety of modules to choose from, and as a result, my course is tailored to me. I've also taken up a language module in both my first and second years, and in doing so; have been able to enjoy my studies even more.
