I understood quite soon why King’s reputation is so good in Classics and Modern Greek. I’m glad I’m part of this and can make the most of it, especially now that is a difficult time for the Greek people.

The modules are incredibly diverse and stimulating, and the Classics Department and Centre for Hellenic Studies hold a large range of events and lectures as well. On top of that, the Classics Society, a student led society, publishes a newspaper and organises an annual trip abroad to keep the long tradition of the Greek play alive. King's is the only university to put on a student-run production of Greek drama in the original language every year, and we get a full house each time.

To witness British and international students’ and academics’ interest for what is part of your heritage and culture is very than touching. The hope of contributing to the best keeps me going.

I came to King's looking for an unforgettable experience and an exciting challenge in a lively environment. King's offers so many opportunities to make the most out of your degree and your life here in London. King's central location makes it possible for me to simply walk to some of the most renowned art galleries and theatres in the country, after attending a lecture or studying at the Maughan Library.

King's students' union is also one of the best as there are lots of things to do. After attending the Freshers Fair at the beginning of the year you will have difficulties choosing between all the activities that are on offer.

One of the things I have found to be very good about King's is the tutoring system. It is comforting to have a member of the teaching staff who you can talk to about difficulties or questions you might have, and who knows you as a person.

The first thing that drew me to King's was its reputation; our Classics department ranks very highly in the country. I was also immediately attracted to the Strand campus as it's a beautiful building, and seemed the kind of place that has history and atmosphere. It does have those things, but it's also busy and vibrant – and, as I found at the open day, it couldn't be in a better part of London.

I didn't realise until I got here how much I would appreciate the fantastic location; in my first year, I lived at Great Dover Street Apartments, just a short walk over the river from the very heart of the city.

Something else that stood out on the open day was the friendly and welcoming attitude everyone seemed to have. There are so many different societies and clubs to join that the choice is overwhelming, offering the opportunity to meet new people who share your interests.

I've been a member of the King's College London Symphony Orchestra for all 3 years of my degree, and it's given me the opportunity to perform in amazing London locations while doing something really fun that isn't related to my academic work. I wouldn't want to live or study anywhere else!
