Dentistry Entry Programme for Medical Graduates BDS

'It was during my two years of Foundation doctor training that I developed a passion for surgery, particularly that of the head and neck. I chose King's for various reasons. I was particularly excited about living in the vibrant and cosmopolitan environment that London presented and furthermore the King's programme had financial advantages by offering NHS funding after the first year.

Since I have been at King's, I have been impressed by its resources and levels of academic achievement and research. I am privileged to be taught by people of such eminence in their fields and have been enveloped in the wealth of experience and ambition of my colleagues and teachers. As a mature student, I feel greatly supported by my tutors and faculty both academically and pastorally.

Particularly challenging are the physical demands and balancing a full-time and rather intense shortened programme with concurrent locum work. Most doctors anticipate a lifetime of study and exams, so this is not the greatest revelation! I do, however, find time for an energetic ballet lesson once a week with King's Dance Society and visits to the West Country for a spot of sea air and surf!'
