Having previously attended music college and studied Psychology in York for a year, I was happy to finally find nursing and embark on my training at Kings. Being no stranger to higher education, I feel Kings has fulfilled my expectations of University life on many different levels.

The course itself has been both challenging and enjoyable. It is divided equally between working on placement and studying at University. This allows students to continually gain hands on clinical experience, develop their confidence in their nursing skills and increase their practical and academic knowledge throughout the 3 years. I've already had the opportunity to work at Kings College Hospital, The Evelina Children's Hospital and undertake a placement within the community.

Academic Support is always available, such as weekly drop in seminars in academic writing and nursing calculations. I feel the lecturers are very helpful, approachable and willing to support students with their studies. Nursing students are based in Waterloo, a very modern campus, with a brand new library and many facilities including private group study rooms, social spaces and of course an extensive library of literature!

In my opinion, Kings is a great university. I would definitely recommend it.

Being a student at the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery, which has a history of being the first school for nursing, is something to be proud of.Studying nursing is not all theory based. We spend 50% of our time in clinical placement at some of London's best hospitals where we are supported by qualified nurses prepared to welcome and mentor us. For me, working in a clinical setting and putting the theory I have learnt into practice is the best part of the nursing qualification. To care for young patients, to support their families, and to gain experience in the process is a great learning curve and achievement.

Personally I have enjoyed every experience and opportunity King's has thrown at me and I believe anyone wanting a first class nursing education and experience should definitely consider applying.
