Pharmacology BScI've always wanted to study in London; there is so much to do, so studying at King's College London was perfect for me. Originally, I applied for Medicine but got an offer for Pharmacology instead. I decided to take it and do not regret it in the slightest. The course is hard work but interesting at the same time and I much prefer the work I am doing now. I have decided to take an extra-mural year, which is much like a year in industry. I have been through a few interviews and was offered a place at the William Harvey Research Institute at St. Barts, in their research laboratories. After my degree I plan to do a PhD and carry on in the field of research.
Finding accommodation in London is not difficult. I was not in halls the first year as I did not get a place, but it has made no difference to me in making friends and finding housemates for the second year.
A lot of things in London are free so you can still have fun on the cheap. I have managed living in London on the minimum maintenance loan, as I have a part time job, but it still means I need to be careful. Student nights are a must, as your money will go further.
