I chose to apply for King’s for various reasons; mainly because King’s offers such a unique degree of Religion in the Contemporary World. Of course, I already knew about the prestigious international reputation and standard of the university, and being in the heart of London makes this even better.

The Department of Theology and Religious Studies is a King’s tradition, constituting a vibrant community of students and staff. Not only does it offer a diverse module choice, but it also offers a network of support and assistance. Being a student representative and also the current co-president of the TRS Student Society allows me to make the most of, and become, an active part of the department.

King’s also offered me the chance to study a language as part of my degree. I have been continuing my Arabic studies since my first year at King’s and I am now in the advanced level. Through this, I met a diverse range of people interested in the language, who inspired me to attend an intensive Arabic course in Morocco last summer.

It is every ambitious student’s dream to attend a great institution. King's has a great environment, facilities and people. It is these qualities which prompted me to apply.

Studying at the Strand Campus means I have access a number of buildings with great histories, such as the Maughan Library, Royal Courts of Justice and The National Gallery.

The journey so far has been interesting, inspiring and truly impressive. I have had great support from my lecturers and colleagues and am able to easily access all the facilities I require for my studies. I am also very privileged to be a member of the SSLC (Student Staff Liaison Committee) and employee of the Student Ambassador Scheme. Both programmes not only give me the chance to represent the views of my cohort, but also to communicate with the wider world and gain confidence and experience for my future career.

I believe that ‘team work makes your dreams work’ and being a part of King’s has done exactly that. Choosing King’s was the best decision of my life.
