Biochemistry Head of Department:
Professor Guy Tear
The Department of Biochemistry at King's College London was first constituted in 1958. It shares a leading role in research and teaching in modern biology.
The research and teaching interests of the Department extend from fundamental biochemical research to its application to clinical problems in medicine and therapeutics, with particular strengths in macromolecular structure, biophysics, cell biology, genetics and genomics, and now molecular neurobiology, neurodegeneration, and stem cell therapy.
