This group studies neuromuscular conditions with the aim of better understanding underlying mechanisms and developing and evaluating more rational interventions. Improving the outcome of rehabilitation is a key for conditions such as stroke where recovery is possible while for currently irreversible conditions, such as spinal cord injury, the focus is on maximising function and promoting health.
