Award for excellence in dental education
Dr Mark Woolford, Director of Education at the Dental Institute, recently had the honour of receiving one of only two Excellence in Dental Education Awards for 2010 from the Association of Dental Education of Europe (ADEE).The presentation of the awards, which promote and reward the highest standards of learning and teaching in dentistry, took place during the 2010 ADEE Annual Meeting, held at ACTA in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Dr Woolford received the Mature Educators Excellence in Education certificate. As part of the terms of the award he will present a poster or paper at next year’s ADEE annual meeting in Turkey.
Dr Woolford was appointed Senior Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at UMDS, now King's College London, in 1994. In 2007, he was appointed Director of Education in the Dental Institute and works with a team of Directors and Deputy Directors in all areas within dental education.
Commenting on his award, Dr Woolford said: 'I was very honoured to receive this award that should be seen as an acknowledgement of all the hard work the team puts in to learning and teaching at King’s College London Dental Institute.'
