Award-winning smile for Director of LonDEC
Bill Sharpling from the Dental Institute was 'delighted' to be given the highly commended award for Clinical Dental Technician of the Year at the Dental Awards 2010 recently.The awards, which acknowledge contributions from professionals in the dental industry, were held at the Lancaster London hotel on 23 April.
Bill, Director of the Dental Institute’s post qualification education training centre - LonDEC - said he was 'extremely pleased to be recognised for his Clinical Dental Technical role. It is a great pleasure to receive the highly commended award.'
Bill qualified as a dental technician in 1986 and a Clinical Dental Technician in July 2008 after undergoing a two and a half year post graduate training programme provided by George Brown College, Toronto and subsequently passing the examination set by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Bill is an opinion leader to a number of UK dental companies as well as being a member of the International Team in Implantology (ITI) dental team working group. He is also a Dental Care Professional Tutor for South East London and is the Dental Tutor appointed by the London Dental Deanery at LonDEC.
The Dental Awards 2010 are organised by Purple Media Solutions Ltd (publishers of The Probe, Smile and BDNJ) and sponsored by the British Dental Health Foundation, TheDentalWeb, Dentsply, Practiceworks and The Wrigley Company.
