Combined PhD degree with Turin
King’s College London Dental Institute has developed strong links with the University of Turin in Italy. For three years, there has been a combined PhD project with the University of Turin and Fraser McDonald, Professor of Orthodontics in the Dental Institute, has been part of the examining faculty for this degree. In addition, the Department of Orthodontics has a strong academic link with the Dental Faculty in Turin with lectures and education being provided over the last five years. This year, at the celebration of the graduation of the eight master’s students, now trained as specialist orthodontists, Professor McDonald delivered the Lectio Magistralis to the dental school, faculty and families. Following this, the students presented their dissertations to all those present, the faculty withdrew to consider the results, and the degrees awarded.
It is hoped that recruitment of part-time linked PhDs will begin soon.
