Research award competition winners

Linda Parrott, Dr Suk Ng and Katy Kabenge Katy Kabenge and Linda Parrott have won, respectively, the first and second prize at the Research Award competition at the biennial International Congress of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology, which took place at the end of June in Amsterdam.
The values of the awards are an impressive US$7500 and US$2500. Katy and Linda recently completed their distance learning MSc in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. Dr Suk Ng, Course Director, supervised both their research projects. Their research work has been written up as part of the competition and has been submitted for publication.
The Unit of Distance Learning sponsored a stand at the Congress, displaying various publicity brochures and full size posters about the Radiology MSc, the flexible learning graduate programmes and King’s in general. There was a lot of interest from delegates, especially with both prize winners being graduates from the King’s distance learning programme.
In the five competitions held in the past ten years the DMFR programme has had finalists in each competition, and in total nine students have won eight prizes.
