Office for Humanities Communication
The Office for Humanities Communication (OHC) is an umbrella organisation that fosters communication among scholars and others involved in computer-related projects and activities. Although its principal focus is on activities within the UK it seeks in every way possible to promote interchange and collaboration within the international community.
Since 1996 the OHC has been based at the Centre for Computing in the Humanities (CCH) at King's College London. It was previously sponsored by the British Library Research and Development Department.
The major activities of the OHC are publishing, carrying out surveys, and organising major conferences and workshops or colloquia on specialised subjects. The emphasis in all of these activities is on the implications and the methodologies involved in applying information technology in the humanities.
