Thirty Years in the Music Industry: Steven Machat

Over the last three decades Steven Machat has worked as an entertainment lawyer, record company owner and music publisher, and has represented, among others, Leonard Cohen, Ozzy Osbourne, Phil Spector, Electric Light Orchestra, Genesis, Peter Gabriel and New Edition/Bobby Brown. His associates have included some of the most famous and infamous music executives of all time. In this live interview Machat discussed the highs and lows of an extraordinary career, offering insights into the music business and how it has evolved during his lifetime.
 
The discussion was moderated by Dr. Harvey G. Cohen, and was presented by the Centre for Cultural, Media and Creative Industries Research and the MA programme in Cultural and Creative Industries.
