Attendance and absence

This is a full time degree programme.

Persistent, unexplained absenteeism is looked upon unfavourably by the department and the College, and could incur negative repercussions for you.

• If you miss a single session, then you are responsible for catching up on the reading and taking steps to find out from fellow students what you have missed.

• If you miss two or more seminars without explanation in a particular course module, your Seminar Leader will email you and your Personal Tutor (via your kcl email address), asking you to explain your absence and discuss ways of catching up.

• If you miss two or more seminars from more than one of your course modules (again, without explanation), your Personal Tutor will report this to the Head of Department.

• Further action may be taken by the Head of Department which could lead to your withdrawal from the course.

Potential employers often ask referees about candidates’ attendance records: If yours has been sporadic for no good reason, you could be jeopardising your career chances.
