Entrance requirements 1st or high 2:1 in Music. Equivalent from overseas students. USA: Minimum 3.3 GPA overall, with higher result expected in Music. Applicants with equivalent qualifications or experience seriously considered. English language requirements as specified by the College. Applications should be accompanied by a sample of appropriate and recent written work. Please note that there are different application procedures for Musicology and Composition pathways:* Applicants for the Musicology pathway should upload a recent essay or dissertation to the Admissions Portal. * Applicants in Composition should send samples of recent compositions, accompanied by recordings of the works if available, by post to this address:Music Department (FAO Naomi Bignell) King's College London Strand WC2R 2LS UK * Please make clear in the first sentence of your personal statement which pathway you wish to apply for.Applications are normally considered within four weeks of receipt of references and written work. MPhil/PhD
Same requirements as for MMus plus a high pass in a Masters degree in Music. English language requirements as specified by the College. Applications should include samples of recent written work at an appropriate level. Suitable applicants are normally interviewed (by telephone if living abroad). How to apply
CAMS
No formal entry requirements. Candidates will need to show that they are capable of completing a substantial thesis on a musical topic, or a portfolio of compositions, within one year at a level equivalent to an MMus Special Study. How to apply
Non-degree students
No formal entry requirements. Candidates will need to show that they are capable of following courses at the same level as degree students.
