Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies
The Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at King’s College London is the only independent Portuguese department in the UK and has been acknowledged as a ‘world leader’ in the areas of Portuguese, Brazilian and Lusophone-African studies. Both our teaching and research have consistently received high ratings in league tables, teaching assessments and the RAE. We have a thriving graduate community (both PhD and MA) and our undergraduates go on to a variety of careers and further study. We are particularly proud of our strong research community which includes our Centre for the Study of Brazilian Culture and Society, the journal Portuguese Studies, established in the department, and regular research seminars.Latest news
