Cumberland Lodge

Cumberland lodge photo Once a year the Department visits Cumberland Lodge, a spacious 17th-century house in Windsor Great Park, originally the home of the Ranger of the Park, but given to the St Catherine's Foundation by the  the King in 1947.

This is an occasion when students can meet lecturers in an informal atmosphere. There is a varied programme for the weekend with a combination of student papers, a visiting speaker, a light-hearted quiz, a party on Saturday night, a football match, and time to spend in the bar or in the grounds of the park.

Click here to get a good insight to what a weekend at the Lodge might entail. It includes testimonials, photos and a guide to Cumberland Lodge. It also has a link to a Facebook page and to a blog ("A view from Cumberland Lodge").

The next weekend will be on the 7th to 9th of October 2011. The coaches will leave from the Strand (next to the main reception area) at 3:30 on Friday and come back to the same place at 4pm on Sunday. A booking form will be sent to students in the Department by post in August. Places are limited so book early.
