Centre for Hellenic Studies
The Centre for Hellenic Studies in the School of Arts & Humanities at King’s College London, celebrated its twentieth anniversary in May 2009. Through its weekly seminars, regular colloquia, public lectures, international conferences and publications (detailed here and in the annual Newsletter), it has become a major focus for research and international co-operation concerning all aspects of Hellenic culture, from Antiquity to the present. Its activities are free, open to the public and accessible to a wide audience. From its inception the Centre has been generously supported by members of the London Greek and Greek Cypriot communities, as well as many other patrons, chief among them Mr Nicholas Egon who has established the Annual Runciman Lecture. The Centre also sponsors a series of Special Lectures on Classical, Cypriot and Modern Greek topics.
The Centre has just announced plans for its new future, from September 2010.
