General Information for Postgraduate Programmes

The information below is applicable to all programmes

Entry requirements
Applicants for admission to the Centre's postgraduate diploma programmes must normally hold a degree in law or in a related discipline, for example European Studies, of a good second class honours standard (or equivalent in the case of degrees differently graded), or be a qualified barrister or solicitor.

The Centre may consider an application from a candidate who has achieved a comparable academic level through his or her past studies and where previous study, work or experience has made the applicant a suitable candidate for admission.

Entry to the Masters programme is dependent on the successful completion of the relevant Diploma programme at Merit level (with the exception of the MA in UK, EC and US Copyright Law where entry is at Pass level). Enrolment onto the MA programme must be within three years of starting the Diploma programme.  Entrance to the MA is dependent on availability of places.

English
The Centre's postgraduate diploma/MA programmes are conducted in English. Students for whom English is not their mother tongue must be able to provide evidence of having attained a level of English, both written and spoken, adequate to meet the demands of their course. They are therefore normally required to have obtained:
  • an overall score of at least 7.0 plus minimum of 7.0 in all four skills in IELTS or
  • 267 computer based/630 + 5.0 TWE/109 Internet based in TOEFL or
  • Cambridge Proficiency rating A

All persons of the requisite standard whether resident in the UK or elsewhere shall be eligible for admission as registered students of the College. No disadvantage shall be imposed on any candidate for admission as a student of the College on the grounds of ethnic origins, social and political beliefs, religion or sex.
