Division of Health and Social Care Research
Overview
The Division of Health and Social Care Research provides a strong focus for health and social care researchers in the School of Medicine, with strong collaborative links with other Schools in the College. Collaborations are encouraged amongst clinicians, scientists, managers and policy makers. We have established and consolidated strong external links with international, national and local health and social care organisations and with the local NHS Acute and Primary Care Trusts. Our research is used to inform clinical guidelines and national policy.
The Division provides a range of non-clinical and clinical postgraduate training opportunities including MSc in Primary Care Health and Masters in Public Health. We have a strong support system for research students, including a mentorship scheme for Division members and a Researchers' Forum to facilitate the development of early stage researchers. We also hold an annual Postgraduate Research Symposium, a programme of research master classes, and a PhD writing group.
The Division hosts the NIHR Research Design Service London and also provides a Statistical Consultancy via a weekly appointment system..
The core Division comprises 110 staff and collaborates with 30 academics in affiliated schools within King's College London.
