9 June 2011 School’s first Thouron Scholar A King’s College London student has become the first nursing student at the University to be awarded a prestigious Thouron Award. David Bendell, who is in his final year of the BSc Adult Nursing degree at the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing & Midwifery at King’s, went through a competitive application and interview process to be offered the award.

The concert, part of Southbank Centre’s Chorus! weekend, which focused on the relationship between the voice and well-being, is a composition by the School’s composer in residence, acclaimed Irish composer, John Browne.

5 May 2011 Report highlights value of midwives
In honour of International Day of the Midwife (IDM) on Thursday 5 May, the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) released the report 'The Socio-economic Value of the Midwife,' which highlights the important role of midwives during pregnancy and childbirth. The report confirms that investing in midwives and midwife-led care is central to delivering high quality maternity care.
