Candidate numbers

Candidate numbers: To ensure your work is marked anonymously you are issued a new candidate number by the Examinations Office each year. Your candidate number is issued after your registration with the college and will be available to you on OneSpace Student Records This is a five digit number beginning with a “N” for the 2010/1 period and “M” for the 2009/0 period (e.g. N00001 or M00001). It is vital that this number appears on your work not only is it anonymous it also enables staff to effectively track your work and award marks. If you are resubmitting an assignment, you must use the same candidate number with which you submitted the first time. If you have any queries or are unsure of your candidate number it is recommended that you hand in during office hours as support and advice can only be provided during these times.

Collection of Assignments

Assignments are available for collection from the Student Services Centre room 3.15 James Clerk Maxwell Building 4 weeks after submission. An idicative grade will be on the assignment when you collect it.
Please ensure to bring with you your candidate number and ID badge when collecting pieces of work from the Student Services Centre.  Please note that Student Services Centre is only able to store assignments for 4 weeks, after which time, any assignments not collected will be shredded. If you are unable to retrieve your assignment in person and you still wish to collect your assignment you should provide a stamped Self Addressed Envelope and send it in to Student Services Centre, along with your name, candidate number, module code and module leader.
Alternatively you may wish a friend to collect your work. They will need to bring a signed letter of authorisation from you. This letter must contain your candidate number and module code.
