Division of Engineering

Aerogel The Division of Engineering at King’s College London focuses on both research and teaching to promote science and technology and covers areas in biomedical engineering, digital signal processing, fluid dynamics, materials, mechatronics, mechanisms, robotics and telecommunications. Teaching of BEng and MEng degree programmes will be completed till 2013, with the last entry in September 2009. MSc teaching will continue in a number of degree programmes.

The current research concentrates on analysis, application and design with strong fundamental research. In particular, the Division collaborates with various departments and schools in the College and promotes multidisciplinary research. We have built substantial links in the past years with our medical, surgical and dental divisions focussing on the understanding of biological systems to improve healthcare through science and technology. We have obtained funding from a number of external funding bodies including EPSRC, BBSRC and European Commission. We also have strong external collaborations with a number of industrial companies and leading national and international universities.

We have extensive publications in top engineering journals including ASME and IEEE transactions and IMechE journals. Staff of the division are regularly invited to give invited presentations and participate in international conference committees and professional committees.
