Jonathan Steele, The Guardian
JONATHAN STEELE was educated at Cambridge and Yale. He was Washington Bureau Chief, Moscow Bureau Chief, and Chief Foreign Correspondent for the Guardian. He is currently a columnist on international affairs. His latest book, “Ghosts of Afghanistan”, which compares the Soviet and US occupations, was published in October. He covered the Soviet occupation in the 1980s and the current US/British one. He has also written books on Iraq, Russia, Germany and South Africa.
Hosted by the Centre for the Study of Political Community and co-hosted by the Afghan Studies Group.
