The 2011 King’s Awards reception took place on 21 September in the Weston Room at the Maughan Library.
A team led by Professor Martin Wooster from the geography department’s Environmental Monitoring & Modelling Group, recently took part in a week-long exercise in Dorset, where a number of prescribed fires were lit for research purposes.

Probabilistic Prediction Workshop
To mark the close of their ESRC project, David Demeritt, Hannah Cloke, and Sebastien Nobert convened a group of multidisciplinary experts from across Europe to discuss the challenges of developing and using innovative ensemble forecasting technology for flood risk and water resource management.
Reframing Afghanistan
PhD student Jennifer McCarthy currently has some of her PhD research on display to the public at Canada House on Trafalgar Square.
