The following objectives of the PhD have been identified:
i) To establish the location of specific new migrant groups.
ii) To evaluate how different groups navigate the city in different ways using various forms of transport including public transport.
iii) To explore the significance of transport in defining the work experiences and cultural identities of migrant groups.
iv) To explore the relationships between the use of such transport and the construction of spatial knowledge of the city
Supervisors:
Dr David R Green, Dr Margaret Byron (King's College London)
Mr Oliver Green (London's Transport Museum)

Biography
I was born in the UK and went to Edinburgh University to complete an MA in Sociology. I then completed an MSc in ‘Gender’ at the ‘Gender Institute’, London School of Economics before applying to attend Kings College London.
Hobbies and interests include visiting museums and galleries, health and fitness and voluntary work. I work for a registered charity called the ‘Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre’ (RASASC) which supports survivors of rape and sexual abuse by providing listening and counselling services.
I also belong to a 'Help the Homeless' network where we provide clothes, food and advice for the homeless in the London Waterloo area.
