Integrating urban design and peacekeeping principals for regenerating the urban environment following violent conflict
Sarah is a third-year doctoral student looking at the relationship between urban development and regeneration in post-conflict cities where peace agreements have been implemented. Paying particular attention to the construction and development of retail and commercial centres, the cities of Belfast, Beirut, and Sarajevo are used to compare and contrast the different approaches, successes, and controversies of urban reconstruction and development in the broad context of peacebuilding.
