Biography
Domenica Cavarra was born in Sicily, Italy. She holds Master’s Degree in Organisational and Work Psychology from La Sapienza University in Rome (2004). As a winner of the Erasmus grant she spent a year of 2003 in Valencia, representing Spain in the EuroSkyCompass research project. The international project explored attitudes of members of nine different European countries towards social reality and social identity.
After her graduation she worked for one year at ISFOL, the Rome–based Institute for Research on Human Resources and Development in Italy and Europe. Her research dealt with career prospects for women in the context of the Woman’s reconciliation between work and family life in Europe project.
In 2006 she won a grant to spend one year at the London School of Economics (LSE), at the Department of Social Psychology. In September 2008, Domenica joined the Department of Geography at King’s as a PhD student in Risk Communication.
