- gateways: giving web-based access to a wide range of different information sources
- systematic review centres: specialising in the synthesis of evidence
- EBPP centres: focusing on the use of evidence in policy making and practice
- research centres: engaged in research relevant to EBPP
- library services: providing documents and/or information support.
