Research interests
Stephen Martineau recently carried out a survey of Serious Case Reviews in Adult Protection in England and Wales. He also conducted a scoping study of the emerging role of Support Workers in social care, linked to the personalisation of social care and the roll out of Direct Payments and Individual Budgets. Another recent area of research includes the second phase of the Protection of Vulnerable Adults (PoVA) List investigation into referral patterns and decision-making. He is responsible for systematic literature reviews and narrative reviews for a range of SCWRU research projects and for the upkeep of records reflecting Unit publications, conference papers and training.
