The Department of Management is organising a variety of events in 2009/10 for students to plan their next career steps.

Careers Drop-In Sessions

Ask Jeff Riley, the careers adviser, about your career.
When: Every Wednesday during the Spring term,12.00 to 13.00

Women Lead the Way

The Honorable Linda Tarr-Whelan will talk about her new book ‘Women Lead the Way: Your Guide to Stepping up to Leadership and Changing the World’.
When: Tuesday, 9 February, 15.00 to 16.30
Where: Strand Campus, sign-up required as places are limited

Happiness at Work

This interactive session is designed to help you establish what will make you happy at work! Really helpful whether you already have a job interview lined up and need to be able talk in a distinctive way about what is important to you or if you are still thinking about what kind of career will really make you happy. The session will also include an opportunity for some participants to enroll for a programme of six 1:1 30-minute coaching sessions over the subsequent six weeks.

Careers Speakers Series: Richard George, European PR Manager, LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a widely used social networking site for professionals. In this talk Richard George will tell you all about how you can develop your career by using LinkedIn as a networking tool.
When: Wednesday, 24 February 2010, 13.00-14.00

Careers in the UK for International Students

With Hilary Moor, Deputy Head of Royal Holloway Careers Service and MBA Careers specialist. Hilary, who will be running this workshop with the department's careers adviser, Jeff Riley, has a background in recruitment and has extensive experience of advising international students. No need to book just turn up.
When:  Monday, 8 March 2010, noon to 1pm

Diageo Workshop

Diageo, the world's leading premium drinks business, will be presenting on "HR challenges within a global organisation". They will also be talking about job opportunities within their HR function. The event is organized by the HRM Learning Board and if you would like to attend please email stuart.woollard@kcl.ac.uk by Friday 5 March.
When: Tuesday, 9 March 2010, from 5.15pm

Applying to LinkedIn

A workshop about writing a great CV and covering letter for the LinkedIn internships. No need to book just turn up.
When: Wednesday, 10 March 2010, noon to 1pm
