Professor Pervez Ghauri

Pervez N. Ghauri completed his PhD at the Department of Business Studies, Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden (specialising in Marketing and International Business). In 2005, he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Economies degree by Turku School of Economics and Management, Finland. For several years he taught Marketing and International Business in Uppsala University and in the Norwegian School of Management, Oslo, Norway, where he also served as Associate Dean (Academic Affairs) for three years. During 1990 - 1995 he was part-time professor at Maastricht University in The Netherlands. He served as professor of Marketing and International Business at the Faculty of Management and Organisation, University of Groningen, The Netherlands. There, he was the Director for the Postgraduate Programmes for several years and from 1997 till 2000, he was Dean for Academic Affairs. During the period of May 2001 - May 2008 he served as Professor of Marketing and International Business, as head of IB group, at Manchester Business School in the UK. Currently, he is Professor of International Business at King’s College London in the United Kingdom.
 
Professor Ghauri has been elected Vice President for the Academy of International Business (AIB Worldwide) for the years 2008-2010.
 
He has been visiting professor at Lunds University, Lund, Sweden; Heinrick-Heine University, Düsseldorf, Germany; Robert-Schuman University, Strasbourg, France; Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark, Michigan State University, East Lansing, USA, University of Valencia in Spain and University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China.
 
Professor Ghauri serves as consultant for the International Trade Centre (ITC/UNCTAD) in Geneva, Airbus Industries in France, Ericsson, Sweden, Norwegian Export Council in Norway, the Foreign Investment Agency at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands and Thomas, Shook & Bacon, UK. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Centre of International Business at Leeds University Business School in the UK. He has been a member of several Review Panels, e.g. Copenhagen Business School, Denmark; Open University, UK; Strathclyde Business School, UK; Loughborough University, UK, and University of Auckland, New Zealand.
