Biography
Finola's research is in the field of marketing, specifically marketing within the creative industries. To date this research has focused on the film industry supply chain as well as issues of ethics and corporate social responsibility deriving from marketing of the arts. She has also undertaken research into the role of networks in visual arts marketing. All of this work is undertaken with respect to the role of policy in shaping the marketing environment. Finola has also undertaken research into ethical consumption. In undertaking this research, she has drawn on a range of qualitative research methods. She is also interested in the social role of the arts and subsequently organised an ESRC funded seminar on Social Arts Marketing as part of the 'Rethinking Arts Marketing' Seminar series. She is chair of the Arts, Heritage, Non-Profit and Social Special Interest Group of the Academy of Marketing and co-chair (with Dr Dirk vom Lehn) of the Cultural and Creative Industries Track at the British Academy of Management Conference. Finola is on the editorial board (and book review editor) for Equal Opportunities International. She teaches Marketing Management to undergraduate students and International Marketing to MSc students. She is also a visiting lecturer in Film Marketing at Royal Holloway, University of London and Cologne Film School.Dr Kerrigan obtained a BA in English, Sociology and Politicsfrom the University College Galway in 1995, a MA in European Integration from the University of Limerick in 1997 and a PhD from the University of Hertfordshire in 2005.
