Third OECD World Forum

Professor Denise Lievesley, Head of the School of Social Science & Public Policy was a member of the Third Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) World Forum organising committee and an invited speaker.

The Global Project on "Measuring the Progress of Societies"- was hosted by the OECD in Korea at the beginning of November. The project aims to foster the development of sets of key economic, social and environmental indicators to provide a comprehensive picture of how the well-being of a society is evolving. It also seeks to encourage the use of indicator sets to inform and promote evidence-based decision-making, within and across the public, private and citizen sectors. The project is open to all sectors of society.

Professor Lievesley’s paper, entitled ‘Does Evidence Change People’s Behaviour?’, was part of the OECD’s World Forum on "Statistics, Knowledge and Policy", which seeks to interrogate the idea of ‘progress’ in societies.
