Description

The King's College London First World War Research Group is pleased to announce a symposium to examine the commemorative activity undertaken across Europe and the Commonwealth to mark the centenary of the First World War.

By bringing together perspectives from a range of leading scholars on how the centenary has been marked in various countries, this event will explore the differences and contrasts evident between national approaches to commemoration, and what these can tell us about memory, identity, and remembrance.

The symposium will be a trans-national examination of the centenary commemorations and will combine the insights and expertise of internationally acclaimed scholars with early career researchers in a unique study of how we have marked the First World War, 100 years on.
