The SE2 Visit Day is scheduled for Thursday 13 January 2011
 
  • Induction into and familiarisation with the whole-school context, issues and policies
  • Induction into the practices and policies of the specialist subject department, by the Mentor
  • Organising a teaching a timetable of between 9 and 12 hours per week, giving experience with as wide a range of ages and abilities as the school is able to offer
  • Arranging work with a tutor group and within the pastoral system, teaching of PSHE
  • Liaison with a feeder primary school in preparation for PGCE students’ second Primary School Experience
  • Full Partnership only - A programme of activities on whole school issues following the outline in the PGCE programme handbook, to fit with the programme agreed with the London Providers and selected by the school to fit with any programme for other PGCE students. This should be provided by the PCM or by a range of colleagues each discussing their role or responsibilities*
  • Mentor Scheme only - Release of PGCE student to work with college-appointed Area Professional Tutor (APT) for a programme on whole-school issues on three specified afternoons.
