Travel and Visa Information
Airports
London has 5 public airports:
Heathrow, Stansted,Luton, Gatwick, and
London City.
Getting to King's College from Heathrow and London City airport
The Heathrow and London City airports are accessible via the
Tube. The most convenient way from Heathrow is the Piccadilly line to the Covent Garden tube station. This trip takes about 60-70 minutes. Then switch to the Northern line to go to Waterloo Station. If you are arriving at the City airport, take the tube either to the Covent Garden or Temple tube station. You can walk from Temple to the Waterloo Campus, by means of crossing the Waterloo Bridge.
Getting to King's College from Stansted, Luton and Gatwick
The Stansted, Luton and Gatwick airports can be reached either by train
(see National Rail) from various London train stations or by coach (see
National Express). Use the tube (see
Transport for London) to get to the Covent Garden or Temple subway station.
Visas
Please check with the
UK Border Agency whether you need a visa and how to obtain one if necessary. If you do require a visa, it is most likely a Business Visitor Visa that you need as this applies to academics attending conferences.
Please contact the Local Organising Committee at
uk-clc4@kcl.ac.uk to arrange for a letter of invitation, but note that we can only issue letters of invitations to participants who have formally registered for the conference.
