undergraduate degrees

The department offers a BA in English Language & Communication and a Foundation Degree in Education Studies. All programmes are informed by the expertise of department staff who make substantial contributions across the field of language & linguistics, education & teaching.

taught programmes

Choose from a wide range of education and professional development programmes. The department offers over 30 programmes covering Child Studies, Education, Health and Theology & Ministry.

research degrees

The department provides extensive research training recognised by the ESRC. We run research programmes for MPhil & PhD and two professional doctorates (Doctor of Education/Professional Studies & Doctor of Ministry).

pgce

The PGCE programme was graded 'outstanding' as a result of the latest Ofsted inspection. Students train to become secondary teachers in Classics, English, ICT, Mathematics, Modern Foreign Languages, Religious Education and Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
