Socrates Erasmus exchange programme

Incoming students

These pages are for students who are thinking of spending some time as an Erasmus student at the Department of Education and Professional Studies, or for those students who have already been accepted by this department through the Erasmus exchange programme.

Please note that you can only be a visiting Eramus student if your university programme has an Erasmus agreement with the Department of Education and Professional Studies at King's College London.

How to apply with us

Please fill out a learning agreement and student application form, and ensure that both you and your home institution Erasmus co-ordinator have signed all the paperwork. Then send it to the relevant Department of Education and Professional Studies co-ordinator. Contact details are listed at the bottom of this page.

See the College's Erasmus pages for useful information and an application form.

We will reply to you and let you know whether you have been accepted.

Choosing modules for your learning agreement

To choose modules, check the current BA English Language & Communication  handbook. The final timetable will be available around the summer holiday each year.

Important:

  • The handbooks only show the modules of the current year, so there may be slight changes to the modules offered next year.
  • The first learning agreement is a provisional agreement only. We can only enrol you for modules if there are still spaces left on them. Once you've enrolled at King's and start taking classes, you have two weeks to change your modules.
  • Most King's modules are either 7.5 or 15 ECTS credits (which equates to 15 or 30 King's credits). 7.5 ECTS are normally given for modules that run 3 months. 15 ECTS credits are usually only available for modules that run for six months.

For questions about the content of course modules please email the BA Administrator at: baelc@kcl.ac.uk.

Accommodation

You are responsible for finding your own accommodation in London. The College offers a variety of accommodation within its own halls of residences and also the University of London Intercollegiate Residences for which you can apply. You can find information at: www.kcl.ac.uk/accomm

There are two accommodation application deadlines a year for Erasmus students, normally at the end of June and the end of December. Please contact the accommodation office for confirmation of dates.

To apply for accommodation you will need the seven digit King's identification number that is allocated to you in your official King's letter of acceptance.

For all further questions about accommodation through King's, please contact the Accommodation Office directly at: accomm@kcl.ac.uk
