Biography

Hannah Cloke is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography specializing in land surface modelling, flood forecasting and catchment hydrology.

She obtained a BSc (1999) and PhD (2003) in Geography from the University of Bristol. She then worked as a Research Associate at the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy, working on the European Flood Alert System, until joining the Department of Geography at King’s College London in 2004 as a Lecturer. Hannah is a member of the Hazards and Risk and Environmental Monitoring and Modelling research groups within the Department of Geography.

Her current research includes verifying atmospheric renalysis with river discharge, climate impact on flood hazard, ensemble flood forecasting, streamflow generation mechanisms, large scale hydrology, verification techniques and skill scores, and sensitivity and uncertainty analysis techniques.

Hannah is currently a member of the NERC Peer Review College and a committee member of the British Hydrological Society and the EGU Hydrology section: Catchment hydrology. She is on the Editorial board of the journals Meteorological Applications, Hydrology and Earth System Science and Hydrology Research, and is guest Editor of the 'Large Scale Hydrology' Special Issue of the journal Hydrological Processes.
