Biography
Marcus Köhler is Lecturer in Climate-Environment Interactions and member of the Environmental Monitoring & Modelling Research Group. His research activities are in atmospheric science.
Marcus joined the Department of Geography in 2008. Previously he worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the Centre for Atmospheric Science in the University of Cambridge, where he also obtained his Ph.D. in atmospheric chemistry. Prior to moving to the United Kingdom Marcus graduated with a Masters in meteorology from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. During this time he also carried out research work at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Marcus teaches course modules both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is coordinator of the postgraduate taught programme "MSc Carbon: Science, Society and Change", as well as deputy admissions tutor for the MSc programmes EMMM, Carbon, GEC, and WSG. He is also a member of the Department's Undergraduate Board of Studies.
