Funding opportunities
The high quality of our students and our teaching is recognised by the national and international financial support they attract. On this page we outline the major sources of funding available specifically to Masters students in the Department of Geography. We also recommend that you search the Postgraduate Funding Database (see link on the right) for more information on possible sources of funding.

The Department has two bursaries of £1,000 each for UK/EU students on any of our Masters programmes. Students who apply for admission by 31 May are automatically considered for the bursary. The awards are made solely on academic merit, based on the information provided in your application. Successful candidates will be notified by email once the final decision has been made.

One King’s College Innovation Bursary valued at £2,500 is available for MSc Carbon: Science Society and Change (not running for 2012 entry) and MSc Global Environmental Change. All applications received by 31 May will be automatically reviewed and the award will be made on academic merit to a student with no other studentship support.
Overseas students

Up to six Commonwealth Scholarships will be available for students on the MA Environment and Development; MA Tourism, Environment and Development and MA Disasters Adaptation and Development programmes. Students must be from developing commonwealth countries and fulfil certain other eligibility criteria. Applications must be received by both King's and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission by 1 April 2012.
